Monday, September 29, 2014 - HUMP DAY (1/2 way mark)

HOLA FAMILIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loved the letters this week! Thanks soooo much!!!!

This week was honestly soooo amazing! =))) Aldana was baptized Saturday!!! Seriously una milagro!!!!! It was so stressful though!!! She never told her dad that she was getting baptized so we were super stressed that it wasn't all gonna work out!!! But it did! and it was amazing!!!! =))))))

This week we also completed el estandarte!!!!! I don't really know how to explain it in english but it's a super big deal!!! and we did it! =) whooooop!!!!!! Also we had FIVE investigadores in sacramental!! As well, we had 3 miembros inactive!!  With one we seriously worked our butts off this week! and saw so many miracles!!!

We have some seriously amazing investigadores right now!!! Matias, Aldanas brother has a fecha for 18 de October and Rodrigo as well. We found Rodrigo this week, he lives with his gpa. They moved here last Wednesday. Rodrigo (10 years old) came to the activity on Friday, the baptism on Saturday, and church with his gpa (who's inactive) Sunday!!! Seriously, no puedo creer los milagros que veamos este semana!!!

I wish I had more time to write but I don't so I'll write longer next week!

Besitos!!! I love you all!!!

Hola familia!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUINNY!!! Freak can't believe he's 7!!! So crazy!!!! Thanks for sending like 5 million pictures!! Made my life. I felt like such a dork sitting in the cyber and laughing so hard. Ugh. But they killed me. Those wacky wednesday pictures. Ohhhh love it!!

Anyway this week was super good! Marisole, Aldana, and Matias, and her 2 other babies came to church!! We stopped by to walk with them!!! It was super amazing to see their whole family sitting through all the church meetings!! It was the first time Matias came to church and he said he liked it a lot! Aldana has her 3 assistancias so we're hoping she'll take the leap of faith and choose to get baptized this Saturday. She gotten a little scared and doesn't like the modesty commandment. So things have been a little rough. But we're just gonna work with her super hard this week to help her.

Also we had entrevistas this week. So that was good. It's always good to get to talk with the president. I never know what to say, but once you're in there he just says the perfect words and things you need to hear. It's cool!!!

Also Jose, our mission leader accompanied us one day. It was super good, he's awesome. Super funny. Haha also he only has 1 eye, and he can't see out of it really well so when we were walking he had his hand on my shoulder so I could guide him. haha

Oh yesterday we had dinner at the Valenzuelas house. They live like at the end of the world, so we have to take the collectivo. It only passes buy about every 2 hours. When we were finished dinner and heading home we got on and quickly realized we forgot an important paper, so we got off, and had to wait another 2 hours for the next collectivo. Nothing like a 7 hour lunch. Whoops, but she made lemon pie haha so we weren't too upset.

Oh and this week we did entercambios. Where I was with Hermana Inga, my old companion. It was super good, but didn't end very good. Haha, I'm so mad at her. When we were finished for the day, she basically interviewed me. Idk, she likes to control the feelings of other people and I'm not good at talking about my feelings. Everyone knows that. So ya it ended kinda in an argument and we haven't really talked this week. But it's all good, we'll figure things out.

Idk, that's about my week. It was super good, we did lots of stuff. Just working on trying to help Aldana and their family. My companion and I are still trying to get along. It's super awkward, but we're working on it! =)

Love you guys so much. Thanks for everything you do for me! Love, love, love you!!

Hola!!!

This week was crazy! We had transfers and we had to rush to the pension from the cyber because my companion Hermana Lopez was transferring out of Plottier and her new companion was waiting for her in Neuquén. And it was SOOOOO WINDY which made life difficult but we got there. Once Hermana Lopez left I was with Hermanas Inga and Malmrose for the day. Oh also the power went out and there were no taxis to pick up my companion. So that was fun. Haha also there were policemen outside with their whistles directing traffic. That happens a lot here in Argentina. lol

We had stake conference yesterday!!! That was fun! There was 15 of us that went in a trafi. It's like a little bus, but it only has seats for 12, haha, so it was super squishy but sweet!!!!! Also, Angel, our inactive member came so that was awesome too! It's amazing to see the change that is taking place in his life and he has started to accept and live the gospel again!!! He's really changing, reading and understanding more. He also met with the bishop this week! So that was awesome!!!!

Marisol and Aldana sadly didn't make it to church this Sunday =( things were a little crazy at their house this week. Marisols mom ended up in the hospital.  We visited her yesterday and she was just so upset. She can't go visit Marisol anymore because of the boyfriend. So we're gonna visit the mom and make sure she's ok. So that's really hard. We're just trying to find a way to help this family. It's so hard especially with Marisol having a new baby and stuff.

Also we contacted a reference this week. Super cool story, right now he's studying with testigos de johova (Jehovah Witness). There is so MANY of them HERE!!!!! But he loves the bible and is studying that.  He had a Book of Mormon that the missionaries had given him back in 1994!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so cool, like oldish and cool looking!!!! So were gonna meet with him this next week!!!

Also this week when we were at Marisol and Aldanas house, Nahi (Marisol's younger daughter), she dumped this whole bottle of rubbing alcohol on their new little dog. The dog cask muerto (almost died), seriously, there was so much liquid. We were trying to hurry and untie the dog but the smell was so strong. The dogs eyes were closing and its head was falling back so we quickly bathed it and there was no warm water. So we were heating up water like crazy trying to save the dog. But all is good and it lived. Haha crazy. Nahi is cray.

This week was super good. Just adjusting to transfers. My companion treats me like a 5 year old. Haha so here's hoping things get better. Transfers be so fun...

Love you guys thanks for the emails and for sending me a SUITCASE!!!! =) I can't wait to get it.  LOVE YOU SO MUCH

BESITOS!!!
XOXOXO

Monday, September 8, 2014

Ahhhhhh hola! I loved all the letters this week! Sounds like Jaymi is doing so good in Peru! I love it!!!!!!!!! So close! Venga Argentina Jay!! Hahaha

Well we have transfers today! I'm staying and my new companion is Hermana Santos!!! She's from Peru and she's the oldest here in the mission. Hermana Lopez says she's like 35 or 36 years old!! Hahahhah ahhhh so we'll see how that goes, and she's only been out 3 weeks more than me in the mission! So that will be an adventure.

Also Hermana Inga, my companion in Roca, is coming to Plottier as my hermana lider!!!!!!!!! So stoked! She'll be companions with Hermana Malmrose!!! Vamos! So stoked! She can give me all the updates that went down in Roca! My area favorita!! =)

So this week was hard to work, haha we went to Neuquén 2 times for medico and Hermana Lopez was super sick one day throwing up and stuff so we didn't really leave that day. Also Friday we had capacitacion, coordelacion, and consejo. So we didn't leave the capilla that day. It was nuts. Then Saturday we walked like seriously 1.5 hours for lunch, every Saturday to the family Morales. My favourite family, they are seriously so funny! They both served a mission. The pic of them is with the 3 girls. Adorable no! I love them!! She cooks so good too! Then we went to their house Sunday for lunch too! They cooked asado!!! Steak! Chicken, chorro, pan, salads. It was so sweet!

Also Marisole had HER BABY!!! A GIRL!!! I attached pics of them too! So sweet! A little girl! She's adorable. I wanted to hold her soooo bad! But we can't =(   Also Aldana didn't come to church yesterday, she needs to come to church one more time before she can get baptized. And this Saturday wouldn't have worked tampoco because we have stake conference. So pray that she comes to that so she'll be able to get baptized the 20th!!! =) Whoooo vamos!! It was also Matias birthday yesterday. The son to Marisole. He got a phone and was so stoked. Seriously, kids of all ages have phones down here. It's cray. Haha

Oh and another cool experience. We've found a member inactivo like 2 or 3 weeks ago. His name is Angel. He's a little interesting, but we haven't had a lesson with him yet because we can't be alone with him. Usually we just talk outside of his house and answer his questions. He started reading the BOM and we have given him pamphlets to read and he has!! He's cool and he came to church yesterday andddd paid his tithing!!! Super amazing! Except those fetching lider de zonas thought he was an investigator and took him to their ward. So we didn't even talk to him only saw him once.  I'm learning a lot of patience with the zone leaders. It's so annoying. Our whole zone is so sick of them and how they do things. But that's part of the mission. Nothing I can do but learn to be patient.

But the work is really good here! Things are progressing really well! More inactive members are coming to church, more investigadores are assisting the church, and more importantly our mission is working to have a temple here in the patagonia!!! Amazing stuff here in Argentina! I love it! The mission is the best! I'm so happy for the decision I made to come out here and to serve nuestro padre celestial! I LOVE IT!

LOVE YOU ALL!!!!
Have fun at school! And Dray and Quin keep practicing the piano because I wanna hear you play when i get home!!!

Love you all
Besito!!

Monday, September 1, 2014 - 8 MONTHS!!!!

Well this week was good!!!

We had a ward activity this week, called viaje a Hawaii, trip to Hawaii. It was so good, and super successful!!! We had at least 70 people there. It was the best. So we were in an airplane that came to Hawaii, had a luau type thing, then went back on the airplane. It crashed, everyone "died", then we taught them all about the reinos de gloria. It was amazing, fun, spiritual, and awesome!!!! Aldana and Marisole came and Matias. (Aldanas brother)

At church also there was a lot of people!!! Marisole and Aldana. One of our inactive families. So it was awesome and super spiritual.

Also this is week 6 of transfers so next Monday I'll be getting a new companion!!! =l Vamos. Haha muy nerviousa! Haha pero es la mision.

Oh and on Saturday there were 3 baptisms in the other ward, the mom of Marisole and a dad and his daughter. It was so amazing! So spiritual. The mom of Marisole after her baptism was like "well I'm baptized". So cutteee. Also when the dad was confirmed with the Holy Ghost, he was tearing up! So amazing!!!! I guess his wife was inactive but she's active now. Their oldest son was baptized 3 weeks ago and now the whole family are members!!!! Super amazing!

Also super huge thank you to gma and gpa Cook and gma and gpa Miller!!!! I got all my letters and my package and that made my day!!! Love you guys sooo much!!!
