Hola

This week not a lot happened. We had capacitacion with the leaders from Zapala. They traveled about 3 hours to get here then left the next night. I got to do exchanges with the sister leader. She's so cool, she basically saved my life this week. Haha, it was fun too because we've had 2 of the same companions. Hermana Lopez and Hermana Santos.  Tonight we're going to Zapala to have a zone conference with the mission president so that'll be good!

Javier came to church yesterday which was really good. He's been making a lot of positive changes in his life. If he keeps the wow these next 2 weeks, he can get baptized November 22nd. So pray for him =)

But idk, lots of things have happened. Basically just working hard and finding new people to teach. We found 8 new people who are willing to hear about the restored gospel this week. So we'll continue to work with them and hope that they can progress in the gospel.

The church is true. I'm so grateful to be a missionary!! It's super hard, and sometimes I wanna die. But there's nothing more important that I could be doing with my time than this. I love it. Hope you guys have a super good week. Love you so much. Sorry my letter sucks this week. I'll try to do better next week.

Love youuuuusss

Monday, November 3, 2014 - 10 months

This week was super good! We worked a TON!!!! Super much. haha  I was super trunky on Friday, I was like my brothers are trick or treating right now! Thanks for sending pics mom! Loved them! =) Everyone is jealous that I get a TON of pictures every Monday.

But this week we had 3 investigadores go to church. One was Javier, who has problems with the word of wisdom. Drinks, smokes, does drugs. It's really sad the life he's had. But he LOVED church. He had his headphones in the odd time listening to music and I kept bugging him to take them out. It's amazing to see the change he is making in his life as he learns about the gospel. He's even praying in the lessons and reading the scriptures. He would NOT pray before, no matter what we did and it's key to have the investigadores pray. He's praying now =) it's amazing. He wants to be baptized like now, so we moved his date for one week earlier. He just has to live the word of wisdom, which will be the hardest thing for him. Won't be easy but I know he can do it. I can't even explain the change in him.

Another was Yanina. She's been an investigador for a lot of time. Around 8 months or something and hadn't been to church yet, so we were gonna drop her because she's not progressing and SHE CAME TO CHURCH. It was amazing. She even said she wanted to bear her testimony but had vergüenza (shame). She said próxima vez (next time). She has a little boy around 1 year old and I was trying to keep him quiet the whole sacrament meeting. He was running everywhere. I kept giving him food (I had torta frita in my backpack for when we finished fasting), gave him my water bottle, gave him the santa cena (sacrament). Man my ingles (English) sucks eh. He was a handful but it was good!

Richard came too, he's about 14 years old and has his 3 asistencias and we're hoping he can get baptized this 15 of November. The only thing is that his mom doesn't want him to be baptized. She's like when he's no longer living under my roof, then he can make his own decisions. So that sucks but his dad is all for it. He's amazing. Floridor, but goes by Floro because hates his name haha so funny. He's amazing. Can't get baptized because they're not married and the mom doesn't want to get married. So that sucks. But one day he'll be bishop of Chos Malal. I know it.

But really this week was really good! We celebrated the birthday of my comp yesterday, she turned 26. She's really good. Loves to work and is a huge example to me. Sometimes I wanna rip her hair out. But I feel that's how it's gonna be with every comp. But we're working it out. Gotta love companion intervention every fetching Thursday. Haha

Anyway, love you guys!
Besitos!

Hola familia!!!
Loved the letters this week! They were such good. Especially the story and pictures of Keaton. I died laughing. Hahahahahaha too good.
Well this week wasn't super easy, the first week of transfers never are, but with time it gets better!!! Here in Chos Malal it's super small. Sunday was super crazy and such an experience. We meet in this ghetto old cyber, it's super small. There was about 25 people there on Sunday for sacramental. Super small but the Spirit was there. Asi que esta bien.
The work here is super good though. I've never had so many investigadores with a baptism date. So many.  We actually had a cool experience the other day. We were contacting references and we contacted this house and talked to this boy who's about 17 years old. He smokes drugs like everyday. After his mom died 2 years ago, he's smoked drugs everyday. He says the only important thing in his life is marijuana. So sad. His life story seriously is so sad. He doesn't know his dad. He has 4 siblings and doesn't know where they are. He's been living on the street. Crazy, but he has all the desires to be baptized and to have the Gospel in his life. So we're working with him, teaching him the lessons and he accepted to be baptized on November 29th. He's actually super cool! He wants to change his life!!!
But ya that's my life this week. I don't have super much time. I hope everything is going good back home! G'pa Cook said there's been snow. Crazy Canada. =) Anyway, have a good week!

Love you

Tuesday, October 21, 2014 - CHOS MALAL

Wow was this week the hardest week of my life. Never have I had such a hard week in the mish. Queria morir. My comp and I seriously banged heads a TON. We seriously didn't talk this WHOLE week. Walking and not talking is the worst.  I'm so happy transfer came, timing was perfect.

I'm good now. Here out in the boonies in Chos Malal. My companion is de Columbia, she's cool!! My pension is super nice, I had my first shower in like 3 months, so that was sweet. No more buckets full of water hahaha. Whoooop!!! What else, my district leader here has parents in the same mission as Brady Olsen, in Japan. Small world eh.

I also got my suitcase on Sunday and that made my life!   It was also soooo awesome to see Lorena, Angela, and their family. I cried. I honestly didn't want them to leave. They're basically like my family here.  They're the ones who delivered my suitcase.  They picked it up in Beunos Aries and came to see me in Plottier.

The worst part of leaving Plottier was saying bye to Marisol and Aldana. I bawled my face off. So did Marisol and Aldana which is weird because Marisol isn't like that. My whole time there we never hugged and I hug everyone! She's kinda closed off idk, but we just hugged and bawled for like 15 minutes. It sucked but she said the sweetest stuff.  "I know the people in Chos Malal need you", "thank you so much for bring the gospel into my life". I was bawling. Aldana and Marisol wrote me the best letter I've ever read. Seriously Aldana is saying she wants to serve a mission and everything! I cried.

Anyway it was emotional, transfers always are, but I'm happy to be here and helping the people. It's like starting new. I like transfers only for that reason. =) Anyway, love you guys.

Thanks for everything, you're the best ever! Hope you have an amazing week!!!

I'm getting transfered to Zapala it's a small area called Chos Malal. My new comp will be Hermana Narvez. There's like nothing out there haha it's a super new area too.

This is a link to a blog that Hermana Miller's mission mom, Hermana Lovell does.  It's a recent blog about Chos Malal, Makenzie' new area.   Just click on it and it should redirect you.

Makenzie didn't have a lot of time to write this morning.  She did send a lot of pictures and I love getting pictures.  Her long awaited suitcase has arrived.  She said it made her life.

Hola!!!

How are you guys!!?? I totally forgot that it was Thanksgiving!! Haha but looked like it was super fun!!! Wow Uncle J haven't seen him in forever!!! Like 5 years no! Wow tell him he better be there when I come home!!!

This week was super good! We're working with Matias a lot! He's the brother of Aldana and he's gonna get baptized this SATURDAY!!! Que milagro! Seriously he's the best! I love this family so much! It's the birthday of Marisol today so were gonna do something for her too! Oh another miracle, she blessed her baby in sacrament meeting yesterday!!! Seriously this family is changing and I love it so much. The best is when we teach Matias and Aldana starts teaching him, or when she shares her testimony, or how she felt after she was baptized. One day we taught Matias and we're like do you have any questions and he's like no solo queiro bautizare me! (I just wanna get baptized) Then he gave the best prayer ever!! Asking to help him be baptized and to receive the Holy Ghost to be a good kid! It was so amazing! I'm gonna bawl my face off when I leave this area. We have transfers this week and it's gonna suck! But it's part of the mish.

In church yesterday we had 4 investigadores in sacrament! A couple from Peru came and it was so amazing to see them there. They're from Peru and they have so much desire to learn about the gospel! We taught them on Wednesday and invited them to church, but we never stopped by this week because they work a lot! So it was a nice surprise to see them in church!!! It was the best!!!

I love the mission work so much! Can't believe I have less than half of my time left. I kinda hate it. haha Love you guys so much! Praying for the family this week! I know it will be a hard one, but just know that God has a plan for us, it isn't the plan we always want, but the plan we need!!!! I'm so grateful for the plan of salvation and that through it we can return to our Heavenly Father to live in peace and happiness forever!!!! The church is true!!! Seguiran adelante!

Les amo mucho!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Con amor,

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!

Thanks for all the letters and pictures! You guys are the best!!! Love it! Sounds like everything is good back home and that you had fun at Echo for conference! That's sweet!!! Looks super warm too! Here it's been somewhat warm this week, it was raining really hard so it was a little cooler. I think it's warmer in Canada than here.

This week we didn't have the opportunity to work as much because my companion couldn't walk. When we were playing futbol she got kicked in the foot and we went to the hospital and they took x-rays and everything but it's all good. We just didn't leave our pension for 3 days. =( Then it was zone conference and then it was General Conference. But we were able to have 3 investigators come to conference and 2 inactive members came as well, so that was good.

P-day was fun, we went to like this camp and played futbol and ate chorris with our mission leader.

Oh oh oh and creepy, we have this inactive member who is like so creepy. He told me he loved me, he called us last night saying he's bored and has nothing to do. Then my companion grabbed the phone and she's telling him he can read his scriptures and pray. Haha thanks for calling, chau. It was so funny. But he's creepy and invited me to his moms birthday.

Oh and I got to listen to conference in English once. We went to Neuquén one day and I got to see HERMANA LOPEZ!!! WHOOO! I was so happy!! It was good. We went to a mall and ate at Subway, it was the bomb. haha

But ya that's this week! Seriously can't believe I have only 9 months left! Time to give er my all, no. Love you guys so much!!! Can't wait to get my suitcase!!! Whooooo!!

Bestitos and abrazos fuerte!!
